:talking to myself (again):

This morning I did one of my top 3 favorite things to do. Numbers 1 & 2 involve Ice Cream and whipped toppings (I'll leave it to that). Number 3 is to go kayaking. It was special today because there was a light to moderate rain falling. It just makes the lake that much more tranquil. I got home, then went for a swim (possible enjoyment number 4). Which brings me to my next topic (lousy segway). Of all of you who Blog, do your spouses/significant others/close friends
A- know you Blog
B- read your Blogs
C- know what the hell a Blog is.

My wife knows I Blog, she's still not quite sure what that means, she's not terribly computer literate, but I have not shown her my blog. I don't feel I've written anything 'wrong' but yet I have not shared it with anyone I know. Just curious to see how the rest of you folks feel about this.

  • I have shared my blog with my husband, Phil. (That sounds like a have more than one husband but Phil was the only husband I shared my blog with..hehe) Anyway, he skimmed over it with me but I don't think he has gone back to it. I just started sharing it with people back home. It's a good way for them to know what's going on with me. I haven't shared it w/ anyone at work though...aw..too close there.

I can understand though why you haven't share it with your wife. Maybe you don't want to give her any opportunity to poo-poo something you have put so much energy and thought into. I don't know. Not that she would but maybe she might and that would really suck so why give the option. Does that make any sense?

  • Well, it makes sense, but I think she would be more supportive about me writing than being against it. I tend to keep my cards close to my chest, especially with people I am close with (rather odd if I don't say so myself). I may show it to her at some point

  • My favorite two things involve ice cream and whipped toppings too!!!

Several of my friends know I blog, as does my significant other and my parents. Now, however, I wish I hadn't told ANYone other than fellow bloggers. Now I can't write about them!

  • I think that is part of why I 'keep this a secret' too. You can't talk about people if you know they may read it

  • Phil..I think you can not (or should not) talk about people unkindly. Other than that, they are fair game.

  • I started blogging for the express purpose of keeping my hunny bunny informed of my goings-on (he's in South Dakota, I'm in Chicago). I never imagined that strangers would find my blog and read it, but I'm thrilled they do.

After we broke up, he kept reading. I had to stop reading his blog because it was just too hard. My friend, however, kept reading his, and after he mentioned me she told me about it and as a result we're talking again (we'd had no contact for 8 months). If we end up getting married, it will be thanks to Blogger!

Interestingly enough, my best friend does not read my posts, though she knows about the site.

  • My husband knows I blog. He thinks it's a complete waste of time. I have to make him read my new entries. My extended family knows about it, but they haven't shown any interest in looking at it.

  • My family was all informed about my blog when I started it over three years ago. They all read a bit and then lost interest. I started posting rather uncensored about my life and BAM, my mom decided to read it again after a rather embarrassing post. She mentioned it and needless to say, does NOT read now. In fact, none of my family or close friends read anymore.
