"It is good, that you enlighten people about Harry Potter, because those are subtle seductions, which act unnoticed and [can] deeply distort Christianity in the soul, before it can grow properly.
-JOSEPH CARDINAL RATZINGER, in a newly disclosed letter written in 2003, before he became Pope, in response to a German critic of the Harry Potter books -
This was from this week's Time magazine.
I wonder what the heck he means by this???
Anyone have a clue?
On the 'lighter side'
"ESPN magazine says that Lance Armstrong is considering running for Governor of Texas. Well, finally Texas would have a Governor who knew how to ride a bicycle."

Fanatical religious zealots are ruining the world. Fanatical Muslims blow things up and fanatical Christians pervert even the most innocent of things by reading to much meaning into them. Harry Potter is good fun. Period.
I had my own brush with religious fanaticism, but was thankfully cured.
Lance for Governor? If I remember correctly, they taught us in government class here in Texas that our Governor really doesn't have that much actual power. So, it's hard to screw the job up. It certainly doesn't qualify anyone to be President. I think you know who I mean. Oops. I made a political statement.

I went through 8 years of catholic school, so that cured me. And make any kind of statement you wish. This is America (and if I don't like it, I'll delete it ;-) because it's my blog!)
PS off the record, I'm not a fan of the current administration.
