08.01.05 What a Sneaky Move

Bush Appoints Bolton As U.N. Ambassador
I don't want this to be a political Blog. So why did I post this you may ask? I think it's a sneaky political move. It's like waiting for the teacher to be out of the room, then throwing an eraser at someone. Politics is a dangerous subject because people have such strong emotions about it (along with religion and money). This will be my only political statement (and it goes for BOTH parties)

  • Phil,
Thanks for the kind words today. I dont know what prompted me to get on my soapbox. As far as the Pres using the recess nomination option... I bet he didnt come up with that on his own. An advisor probably informed him of the process. I imagine his response was something like..."I can do that? Hehehe, thats cool man".

  • Okay, well, I hate making political statements because in the past they have gotten me into situations that I wish I hadn't gotten myself into.

Yes, it was a sneaky move. However, in my opinion the United Nations is a circus bear with no teeth. It's a worthless organization, so Bolton's appointment is meaningless anyway.

  • Very good point Paula.
And remember, your opinion counts ;-)

  • i think the Dems should have been more aggressive: they should have informed the public about Bolton's WMDs . . .

  • Our president is a wise man and knows what's best for us. He's even smarter than Congress, or the entire U.S. electorate for that matter. What the hell, throw in the leaders of every other nation on Earth. The reason why the planet hates us is because George has all the answers and people know it and resent him for it. I bet he could beat God two out of three times in chess. Hell, he works in mysterious ways just like God. He's that wise and that smart. So I'm sure he has a good reason.

    What was the question?

  • "There are known knowns. These are things we know that we know. There are known unknowns. That is to say, there are things we know we don't know. But, there are also unknown unknowns. These are things we don't know we don't know."

    Is that clear now?
