09.24.05 - That's All

I can only give you love that lasts forever,
And a promise to be near each time you call.
And the only heart I own
For you and you alone
That's all, That's all...

I can only give you country walks in springtime
And a hand to hold when leaves begin to fall;
And a love whose burning light
Will warm the winter's night
That's all, That's all...

There are those I am sure who have told you,
They would give you the world for a toy.
All I have are these arms to enfold you,
And a love even time can't destroy.
If you're wondering what I'm asking in return, dear,
You'll be glad to know that my demands are small.
Say it's me that you'll adore,
For now and evermore
That's all, That's all...

Happy Birthday Dana, even though you don't read my Blog
Elaine Elias version

  • very sweet. Why doesn't she read your blog?

By Blogger Wendy, At September 23, 2005 10:36 PM

  • Wendy, I've told her about my Blogging. I have not sent her the link and she has not asked. She's not a real computer geek-ette so to speak and part of me wants her to read what I write and part of me does not. I feel it's somewhat private. I really dont' have any 'real' people who know me that read it. It's part of my private side I guess. I think I'd hold back too much if I knew people who knew me were reading it. That's how I am...
Plus she'd hit me over the head with my cast iron skillet if she read my cooking posts

  • Very nice, Phil.

  • Yep. I can totally relate. Only my husband knows about my blog and that is because I didn't want to breed distrust between us should he find it.

But, when someone you know reads what you write, you do self censor. it's a battle I'm trying to overcome even as I write this. I have a story started on my blog...the Feb 13 story. I am having a hard time finishing it because Hubby is going to read some stuff he doesn't know about that happened before we met.

At least you told her about it, so you aren't keeping secrets. I imagine you would definately get the skillet for the cooking posts...LOL

  • This is lovely Phil. So sweet.

Well, my husband not only knows about my blog, he reads it and he's a character on it. Of course, his puppet has his own "blog" if it can be called that.

I can certainly appreciate the need for a place to express yourself separate from a spouse though. I do that in my journal, which is so depressing... I keep in a Haz Mat pouch.

  • I think everyone needs a place to let it out or put it down in a somewhat private place (Listen to me, I spill my friggin guts out on the other Blog) I'm not big on journaling although 'my therapist says...' I should. She thinks this is cool too

  • At least she found a good use for the skillet.
