10.21.05 - Looking for Mr GoodBurger
I ate in this Café last night. They have great food and beer (I can't drink now though)
This was the Café from the movie "Looking for Mr Goodbar"
All State Café
250 W. 72nd St. (Upper West Side)
between Broadway and West End Ave.
Trivia: The events depicted in both the book and the movie were inspired by the events surrounding the brutal real-life 1973 murder of twenty-seven year old New York City schoolteacher Roseanne Quinn.
Plot: Theresa is a successful teacher of deaf children during the day but after a short unhappy affair starts to spend her nights cruising bars. Her craving first for sex but later also for drugs leads into increasingly demeaning and dangerous situations completely at odds with her daytime commitment to her children.

It's a kind of disturbing movie from what I remember. I didn't know what the hell to post today. I could have written about my bus ride from hell cross town last night I guess....

I'm Mr. Whatchamacallit. I really should watch the movie again, me thinks Mr. Goodbar is not a very nice person.

As long as it's not as disturbing as Deliverance.

As I recall, the actual murder is extremely violent in the movie, especially for being filmed years ago before Tarantino and others created scenes that made you feel like some chunks might've splattered on you.
Phil, I'm taking my wife on her first trip into NYC tomorrow; should be interesting, I haven't been mugged in years.
Sarah, squeal like a pig, darlin...

Sarah, I think it was disturbing, a brutal murder. I can't watch stuff like that anymore. Deliverence was bad although I guess I'd rather be pitching than catching if I had to choose.
Zudi, Have a great time in the City. They've really cleaned it up a lot. It's nothing like it was during the Dinkins years. Now they actually flush it once a day.
