Back in the Saddle
First off, thanks for all of the well wishes. I'm feeling better although I have taken the phrases "Feeling pooped" and "Being drained" out of my vocabulary until further notice...
My SIL is a fresh fruit/raw veggie type person. She is undergoing a dietary change at the moment and is introducing other foods such as chicken, eggs, dairy, grains in to her diet (or is it eggs, chicken - I always forget which came first). At any rate, there is always an abundance of organic fruits and veggies at her house. This picture does not do it justice but I took this today while over her house. She has bananas in the back and side baskets (I'm not exagerating on this, the other day her and a friend counted 78 1/2 bananas in her house - and yes, I did notify Monkey about this), baskets filled with a variety of apples, pears (at least 35 of those suckers), grapefruits, mangos, papayas, kiwis and a ton of stuff in the two refrigerators they own. All of this is organic to boot. It must have been about $300-$400 worth of fruit.

but I really felt like having an orange...not a single one in sight

Just out of curiosity, how healthy are they? I'm a big fan of fruit and veggies and I don't eat any red meat (for over 30 years), so this isn't new to me. However, health wise, I'm not that much above the norm as those who pig on anything (pun :) ). So, I was just wondering about your sil and her family.

Welcome Kathi,
I've seen your Avatar around somewhere....
Well, the whole family is not on the same intense diet as my SIL. She recently had to have complete blood work done and did very well on all of her tests. She is petite and needs to gain weight but that is another issue. Her kids seem to be ok also. Her husband is more of an omnivoure but is health conscious too. Myself, I have become more aware of my health and try to eat more organic fruit and veggies. I am also a fairly recent convert to juicing and have been at it for about 2 months. Aside from supporting local farmers, everything tastes better and is not that much more expensive especially when you factor in that you don't have to throw stuff out because it looked good in the supermarket, but tastes like crap when you try to eat it.
So I guess they are not super healthy at all, but they are not obese or sickly either. I think it's good to try to be aware of what you eat but sooner or later, we all are gonna die ;-) *
On a side(order) note, a friend just loaned us "SuperSize Me". I'm not a fan of Mickie D's at all and I've heard some incredible stories about this movie. Luckily our kids are fans of fast food either.
*for those of you who did not know this, I'm sorry to be the one to break the news to you.
PS-Taxes are due on April 15th too...

Yum, that looks really good! I just ate a kiwi fruit. But then I had a cup of coffee before that so maybe they cancelled each other out.

78 bananas?
If you had a family of four, that's almost 20 bananas per day. Bananas don't last more than a couple of days.
So, 10 bananas per day?
Does she make a lot of banana bread?
Monkey must be green with banana envy.
