This is an old Irish folk song by the famous harpist O'Carolan (I never heard of him either) but it's a cool song with an unusual tuning. Enjoy.

  • That was beautiful, Phil! It has kind of a peaceful melancholy sound to it.
You did a great job..love watching your videos.
    Now, can you sing?;)

  • Thanks Kayla. I can't sing at all. I'm not just saying that either. My voice sounds like geese farts on a muggy day. I don't have a horrible speaking voice (I think) but I really can not carry a tune at all.
    I know my limitations ;-)

  • Phil, very nice. If my daughter wasn't in the process of divorcing her Irish immigrant husband, I'd try to learn it. What's the tuning on that?

  • Wow! A performing blog. Good stuff

Zudi_ we're a bunch of bastards us Irish ;-0

  • Geese farts?! Hahahaha..on a muggy day, no less. That's pretty descriptive. Quite a unique singing voice you have there. Might be a market for it in the "weird fetish" section:)

  • Zudi, here's a link to the PDF if you're interested.

Kayla, there was a guitarist named Leo Kottke who's voice was described that way on the liner notes. He also said the reason why JS Bach had so many children was because his organ didn't have any stops...
