So here is the garden for the 2006 season. I have the usual stuff that tends to grow pretty well here in NY state. The
dirt here is really horrible, there are so many rocks in it you can't even imagine. There is on place in the yard where you can put a shovel in the ground and not hit a big rock, plus there are small rocks everwhere. No matter how many rocks I take out of the garden, they reappear. So I'm doing the usual stuff like I said. I have 3 different varieties of tomatoes. some big juicy ones, some medium sized meaty ones, and the good old cherry tomatoes that are great for popping in one's mouth. I always have sugar snap peas too. They are in the front of the picture but I put a bunch of then there, plus I have some growing on a trelis this year. I am trying bush string beans and bell peppers from seed. I also have some radishes (Gris...) and carrots too. The garden always starts out very nicely, but then I sort of slack off a little with the weeding. I am going to do better this year.

Phil, have you ever grown any swiss chard? You can keep harvesting leaves all season and it just keeps producing (at least here in Texas). And it boils up into a great meal with a pan of cornbread.

Hi Zudi, I never tried growing it. I know it wouldn't last all season here, we get snow but the organic farm I go to on weekends has it. I should try it sometime. I'm also limited by space although I'd love to expand the garden. Maybe next year, too much for me now with the surguries, etc...

I like all the veggies in your garden, Phil. Hope the string beans and bell peppers work for you this year.
I like the grape tomatoes, too.
I had a garden a few years ago, and was soooo proud when ONE butternut squash was on the vine.
No slacking this year!
8-)

I do love to garden, it's theraputic (until it gets overgrown with weeds, then it drives me mad...)
Rose: I've thought of the comment moderation but it seems like too much work at this point. I don't like the annon comments at all so for now it's Blogger peeps only. I suppose I could have more friends if I changed the moderations, but as the saying goes
"I have friends I haven't even used yet"
I will make a point of stopping by

Kayla, I don't get too exotic with growing too many things. I just love tomato sandwiches in the summer, warm just off of the vine. I hope you garden this year.
Rose, I want to learn more about wordpress. I started experimenting with it a few weeks ago but I got sidetracked.
spinning girl: very corny, I love it
