HNT

A very good friend of mine (who I happen to work with as well) turned me on to this song. I thought it would make a good post

Naked (click to listen)
Baby, ask me anything that you want
And I'll look you in the eye now
There can be no surprises
If we mean what we say
I've been around the block
And I've done some things
That I ain't so very proud of
Darlin' help me leave this cloud of
Rolling lonely behind

Naked
I'll stand naked
If you stand naked with me
I'll stand naked with you

In the morning when I look in the mirror
I look twice at what I'm seeing
If those eyes are really me then
Lord, have mercy on my soul
I'm walking forward but I'm walking alone
And I need some understanding
Here, we all need some understanding
And I want you to know

My hands are shaking as I reach for the touch
And all I want to do is hold you
And I want to lose control
You are so easy to crave
The time has come for us to lay it all down
There can be no more denying
If I can't have you I'm dying
A little more every day

Naked
(Take me out from the shadow)
I'll stand naked
(Lead me down to the waters)
If you'll stand naked with me
(Drown my soul in a sea of love)
I'll stand naked with you
(Don't leave me haunted, 'cause)
Naked
(I believe in the searching)
I'll stand naked
(And I'll find my way through the darkness)
If you'll stand naked with me
(There are doors ahead if we see clear)
I'll stand naked with you
(They're falling open)

  • Wow!
    I can identify!
That's the kind of song that makes you feel it was written just for you.
Which CD is that on of the bodeans?
I may have to go buy it for that song alone ;)

  • The lyrics are nice, but I'm just tooooo tired to listen to it :/ Too bad. I might like it. But I just got home and it's just too much of a task to change the music I'm listening to now lol.

  • Hi Kayla, I don't know which CD it's from, my friend had it on a Joe Dirt soundtrack (?). If you right click on my link, you can save the song to your computer.

Hi Spacecake, I hope you give it a whirl when you're rested.

Hi Kathi, I had never heard of them either. The only Bodean I knew was Jethro from the Beverly Hillbillys

  • Beautiful song - would be fine all acoustic. I like a song where you can totally understand CLEAR lyrics. This ia a great song but I can't always understand the singer. Thanks for sharing the words Phil. My fave singer is AL stewart. When he sings roads to Moscow one HEARS every word. Beautiful. DO you know that song ?

  • Hi Nina,
I remember Al Stewart's song the Year of The Cat, but That's all I know of him. First I though of Dave Stewart from the Eurythmics, but I'm brain dead lately. I'm not familiar with that song. I did find the chords to the Bodeans song though. I still can't sing however but I play as much as I can when my fingers aren't splitting open from the chemo. BUMMER

  • hey,
I beleive anyone could sing if their heart and soul is in it. Maybe a few lessons would help with tone. Mnay famous singers don't have classically great voices.. such as Bob Dylan (can't always underatand, off key sometimes) and Johnny Cash (good timbre though).. What about Leonard Cohen.. not fantastic but superb lyrics and meaning behind the words.
You can make you guitar sing !
