Site Meter Free Zone
This site is SiteMeter Free. I hate the site meter. It's the worse thing since caller ID. With caller ID, how can you phone some random person and ask"Is your refrigerator running?" and when they reply "Yes, it is" you can't say "Well you better catch it, it's running out the door!!" then giggle and hang up. Then KNOW who you are now. They can call you and ask you "Did you ever did time in the Big House? Well, don't bend over to pick up the soap" then they can giggle and hang up on you. Not that I still make prank phone calls but there is little privacy anymore. I know that nothing is annonymous, especially on the Internet. I can't talk about the president in a harmful way for fear of the NSA listening in and busting down my door (Mr Bush, you're doing a real wonderful job there my boy, I feel so safe in my bunker -in case they ARE listening to me). At first I thought the site meter was cool. It let you see where some of your visitors hailed from. Then it became an obsession. "Well why did so and so visit but not leave a comment??? What did I do to THEM???" I've done it, others do it, it's hard not to wonder. Just because I'm paranoid doesn't mean people aren't stalking me. For quite a while I've had one but really not bothered to look at it because of all of the trouble I've seen it cause. When I switched to the Blogger Beta, I didn't bother to set it up again. Now I thought I'd just announce that this is a SiteMeter Free Zone so feel free to lurk and not comment. I still won't allow annon comments for fear or unknown crazies. I prefer to have only the fellow crazies I know and like visit me :-)
Feel free to copy and use the logo if you want. I stole it from SiteMeter then added the universal red circle with a line that means no to it. This is what I do in my spare time folks.
Another issue...
Betta Blogger Link Target Issue:
This may not be an issue for anyone, but it was for me and it kept me from posting my BlogRoll. I don't like to have links that take people away from my site, I'm selfish. I want you to stay ;-)
This fix will enable you to have links in the sidebar that will open in a new browser window
This is from this guy's Blog
Scroll to the line which reads a expr:href="data:link.target' blah blah blah... and append target='_blank' over there, as shown in the example below. As this piece of code is in a loop (b:loop) you need to type it only once and there you are. So go ahead and make the modification.
It's better if you go to his site and look at the example (if you REALLY care) but it's hard to paste code in a post and this jpg didn't turn out great.
Anyway, have fun folks...

You have given plenty to think about there.
With the primeval blogging skills available to this poster, getting anything onto the net seems miraculous.

Okay, I am guilty :D
But I am not a stalker :)
Oh, and sometimes I leave comments but they don’t show up because I’ve hit the preview button instead of the publish button –silly me!

JLee, I'm sure it was an accident. You don't know any psycho stalker bloggers do you?
Tales... I checked out the link. I saw a thread that said "Bill Clinton is Gay". I'm sure it will be a big help with blogging issues :-)
There is a lot of help out there I've found. It does seem to be a helpful site, thanks.
Dakota, I do the same thing too, sometimes I lurk or I've had posts disapear into cyberspace and I don't feel like retyping them

I removed it from my blog. I still have it on blogspot, but that blog does not serve a purpose and nobody is really looking at it. LOL The only good thing about a sitemeter is if you need to ban a user for whatever reason, you have their IP to do so.

That is true Rose about the IP address.
I just use the non-annon policy
to weed out undesirables
~not that I have any ;-)

I think I will keep my site meter because I like to know roughly where my readers are coming from but I don't expect them to make comments all the time. They are free to read ( or not to read )without that pressure. I often read and enjoy other peoples posts but I don't comment on them all.
If people expect you to read and comment every day it all becomes too much and I don't want that pressure.

I use the non Anon too, howevr site meter would come in handy if you were in the spotlight like me. LOL Lucky you, your not. :)

Hi DoGGa, it can be used in a Big Brotherly way.
Kat, I found that feature very cool too. I think they are great when used for good, and not for evil (ha-ha). I know what you mean about visiting and not always wanting to comment. Sometimes I've had nothing to say about the post or the post wasn't good. but if I know someone has a meter, I feel compelled to say something. Mostly with strangers because all of my blogging friends are always extremely interesting all of the time. Just like I am.
(clears throat)
swtrose, you must be VERY much in the spotlight because your link brought me nowhere.
I wish I had my meter now :-(

You can use this tool to post HTML:
http://centricle.com/tools/html-entities/
Paste the code in there and click on encode and copy-paste the encoded stuff in the post editor and publish it.

Phil,
I don't always leave a comment because most of the time I'm inclognito and my feet are killing me. But I do stop by to see what you've posted.

Hi,
I just down loaded Picasa and Hello and I have a beta.blogger account.
Is there a way to use BloggerBot with the beta version?
Thanks,
Gord
