Early Morning Walk
Original Photo
PhotoShop Treatment

I got up early today, 5 am. The sky was clear as a bell but it was 14 degrees out and very windy. I wanted to go outside since next week at this time I'll be at SK with tubes coming out of everywhere. So I suited up with thermals, ski pants, sweatshirt, jacket, hat and gloves and went to the lake. The sky was amazing. I laid down on the wooden dock and watched the sky, hoping to see some meteors. I didn't see any but there seemed to be many planets out there. The lake was alive too. I could hear the ice expanding and contracting and cracks would start on one end and work their way down to me. Awesome.
I can't wait for things to thaw and me to be able to kayak again. It should be good therapy for me in about a month. On my walk back, I stopped and took a photo of Bocci's, a good Italian place right on the lake.

Very cool! I think that is so therapeutic for you to be in nature. I need to find somewhere I can go like that to just think and look at the sky. Hopefully you can kayak again soon. :)

I feel so connected to the Universe when I have an experience similar to the type of morning you described.
Love the photoshop image.
It's a cool building to begin with, and the colors really add to it

Phil, isn't it great to catch a good meteor? I like to watch satellites just after dusk, as well. It's funny how many people have a hard time believing that satellites are visible to the naked eye, but if they would just try it, it works.
The best meteor of my life was one I didn't see. It was in the wee hours and I was driving on a car trip. The sky was filled with low clouds, then suddenly it was as if a blue sun was slowly illuminating the landscape brighter and brighter, then it faded away just as slowly. The whole experience lasted maybe five seconds, but it was fantastic. And kind of creepy too.
Good luck next week.
