Science on Trial
This was a great show on NOVA that I saw last night. It deals with what is called Intelligent Design or ID. What ID it is really about is teaching religion as scientific fact. I know it's a pretty hot topic. This statistic I found is scary to me. How many people believe in the Easter Bunny? I'm not trying to offend anyone but I find it hard to believe that so many people do not believe in evolution. Then again, I found it hard to believe that Bush became president for two terms...

Oh dear, that's a bit disturbing - I'm not slightly religeous and that amazes me!!!
I wonder what the stats would be in Europe? :]

Hey Phil,
I am one of the few that believe a Superior Being created the Universe..
I believe He also created man.
What I do agree with is the evolution of man..not from a cell to ameoba, ect.. but man changing and adapting to their environment and development of the shape of their skeletal body and development of their brain, skills, ect..

I know this is a touchy subject where there is no way for either side to prove what is right. I guess it some down to faith. There are a lot of people out there who believe that the earth is only 6000 years old because the bible says so. There are also people who think the lunar landings were staged and that the earth is flat. I believe that there is a force that created everything and that things keep evolving on their own. I think man greated God in his image to explain the unexplainable. People we amazed that the sun rose and set every day. So many cultures have their own idea of what God is, and most of them want to kill you if you don't believe in their way. Looks at present day in the middle east, look at the crusades of years gone by. I think that misses the point of what God is supposed to be about.
I'm sure I'll go to hell if I'm wrong, at least I know more people down there than in the other place.
Hope I don't offend...
