Windy Day Video (with Guitar)

OK, So I'm on a posting roll again. I post too much and don't visit everyone enough though. I'll try to do better. I know some of you don't have DSL or Cable Internet so it may take a while to load the videos. Sorry about that. It was so warm today here in lower NY State. We usually would have a foot of snow on the ground by now. We haven't even had flurries yet and today it was 70 degrees. I'll admit, it was great but I would not mind some snow. Today was so windy on the lake. There were many whitecaps and whenever I paused paddling to film or take a snapshot, I lost a lot of ground and the kayak was turned sideways. I actually went out with the intention of salvaging a rowing skull that I've seen sunken in the lake. The only problem is that the friggin thing is about 22-24 feet long and it's also water logged. There was no way I could have towed it using the kayak. So much for that idea...
I hope everyone's 2007 is off to a great start, mine is...

Merry Christmas

Yeah, I know, it's a repeat from last Christmas. I've got a lot of wrapping to do tonight. Dylan knows the scoop with Santa, he's 13 now and figured it out when he was about 11. Jack (Grif) is 6 1/2 and is still a believer. It really makes Christmas so special when they believe in Santa. Grif is so excited, I hope he can get to sleep later. Dana has her usual Christmas gig at her church so she's out until 12:30. Dylan is going to try to get Grif into bed so I can make the magic happen. Anyway, Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night

Enjoy :-)

This is an old Irish folk song by the famous harpist O'Carolan (I never heard of him either) but it's a cool song with an unusual tuning. Enjoy.

10.11.05 Another Song

Turlough O'Carolan: Irish Harper
Turlough O'Carolan (Toirdhealbhach Ó Cearbhalláin) was born in 1670 near Nobber, County Meath and died March 25, 1738 at the home of his patron Mrs. MacDermott Roe in Alderford, County Roscommon. He was one of the last Irish harpers who composed and a significant number of his works survive in single line melody. Carolan's fame was not due to his skill with the harp (having started at 18), but to his gift for composition and verse. This is a version I did of one of his songs, it has a really cool tuning that gives it a haunting sound.
I played it on my Ovation Guitar.

08.16.05 Some Music...

I was messing around on my guitar last night and threw together 2 songs very quickly. These were recorded on the first try after little practice, so they are what they are.

Hope you enjoy them....
YIKES, I just listened to them, they need work...
